UGGs: The Iconic Women Boots

It goes without saying that the general public has had a love-hate relationship with Uggs over the years, which isn’t especially surprising considering how long Uggs have been on the market. This iconic footwear brand started way back in the nineteen seventies but didn’t really begin to connect with the modern woman, on a worldwide level until the mid-noughties, when sales went through the roof. It really seemed like they were everywhere back then. You couldn’t walk down a high street, turn on the TV, or flip through your favorite magazine without seeing them. Since then, they have gone on to cement themselves as one of the most iconic pieces of footwear in modern history and have become a permanent part of the collective consciousness and pop culture.

Throughout the years, UGGs have been seen on the feet of some of the most famous and iconic female celebrities of our time. Almost anyone you can think of had a pair of Uggs in their wardrobe. Back in the day, Linsday Lohan, Kim Kardashian, Paris Hilton, and Nicole Ritchie were all known to sport them day in, day out, usually with a designer tracksuit or pair of vintage sweats, pulling it all together. It was quite a look and one that garnered a lot of attention from fans and the press. The most popular, classic style was the knee-high, chestnut brown UGG boot, but Uggs came in many different shapes and sizes; boots, slippers, and shoes, and they still do.

Despite their massive popularity, Uggs have been a polarizing piece of footwear in the post-noughties boom, you either love them or you hate them. We’ve seen this time and time again with brands such as Nike, Adidas, Dr. Martens, and New Balance, etc. What goes up, must come down, but what comes down usually climbs back up again. Rihanna, Naomi Watts, Katie Holmes, Diana Ross, and Gigi Hadid, have all been spotted wearing Ugg boots this year alone, so it appears that UGG boots are very much back in fashion and are on the verge of making a big comeback.

This makes it a perfect time to get yourself a pair of these classic boots, less we see a repeat of mid-noughties madness, where demand was so high that Uggs, pretty much sold out anywhere and everywhere in minutes. There weren’t any Ugg deals to be found unless you went to places like eBay, where prices were three or four times the high streets.

A great boot for everyday wear and world renowned for their comfortable fit, great quality and classic style, Uggs, seem to be a brand that will be around for many, many, years to come. And with Black Friday just around the corner and with Uggs on the verge of making a massive comeback, these classic, stylish, warm, and cozy boots are sure to be a gigantic seller this fall.
